Shivaji Mahavidyalaya, Gadchiroli is one of the leading college in Gadchiroli district, at district place. The college is established by Hon’ble Late Shri. Jagannath Temsaji Patil Mhashakhetri, founder president of Shri. Shivaji Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Gadchiroli in year 1971, it was started with Arts and Commerce faculty at U. G. level. But at present it flowered with Arts, Commerce and Science at U. G. level and six different subjects at P. G. level.

For the progress and development of any educational institutions, Library plays vital role. Our college has big Central Library. The central library of the college equipped number of Text Books, Reference Books, Encyclopedias, Journals etc.

In the 1971 when college established, the college library has 757 books but now the college equipped with 35507 books for U. G. and P. G. level.

The college library has its own separate Building. The library is constructed in 173.375 sq/m. area at the ground floor with beautiful garden before it.

By viewing the mission and vision of the college the objectives of the College Library are stated below.

The college library has spacious Reading Room for the students, with attached separate toilet and bathroom facilities. It is also equipped with cooler in summer season. Separate Teacher Reading Room is also available for the teachers. Library Reading Room for students open at 7.15 a. m. and closed on 5.40 p. m. in all working days from Monday to Friday. On Saturday it is closed on 12.30 p. m. All the library staff always ready for the students, librarian has it own room for administration.
